However this has to be the Noisiest Complex I have stayed in Anywhere! The noise around the pool bar in the day and in the bar at night was unbelievable. The entertainments Team want to play all music at distortion level, and appear to feel that the best way to get anyone to enjoy themselves is to "give it Large and Loud" For anyone from Europe used to stopping in Good Quality Hotels this is not for you.
The facility had a great number of Extremely Noisy Canadians who appear to want to "get wasted". As quickly as possible after breakfast!! I am well aware of the Caribbean Lifestyle coming from an area which has a well integrated Caribbean society, which of course means that I was well able to appreciate the expletive in Patois I was called at the pool bar when not offering a tip on getting my first drink of the day Stayed here for one week only early February.

In the 80's and 90's the brits abroad obtained a bad reputation for standards of behaviour on short haul holidays, I can only assume that this is a similar situation as the Caribbean is of course short haul and therefore cheap for North Americans.
The behaviour I complain about is not from young people in the majority but from Middle aged Folks who appear to have been Let of the Leash. I did wonder at one point if they still had Prohibition in Canada! I have stayed all inclusive in the Caribbean some years ago, in a Sandals resort which would not tolerate the behaviour we encountered.
In short the Holiday for me was spoilt by other guests and the exuberance of inexperienced staff not by the resort or what it provided. If The Melia group think this is OK and the resort provides what the majority of its guests want that's ok by me, but the standard falls way short of what Melia does in Europe. Please do not think that I am a tea total or a prude just someone who wanted a nice Caribbean experience.
